In high school, I started my work as an elder law practitioner before it held this title. At a young age, I worked for a small firm in St. Petersburg, Florida, running errands. Clients used their lawyers as a community resource. For example, when widows sought a repairperson, they usually called their lawyers. It was my job to sit with widows while the repairs were performed.
As my career in elder law grew and changed, I found that the one thing I loved most about long-term care planning was my position as a resource to families dealing with a sensitive matter or working through a crisis.
